As the S Line reached its final twist with its fifth and sixth episodes, the viewers' expectations were at their peak. The mystery, fear, and the red lines of people's hidden desires shown in the first four episodes grabbed everyone's attention. Now it was time to get answers to all that.
These last two episodes brought something different. The story took a new turn—what seemed like a suspenseful and thrilling till now, now seemed like a deep and slightly unreal, dark fantasy. The truths related to the glasses and the relationships of the characters, everything started to unfold.
This not only gave a new form to the story, but also forced us to think about the kind of society we live in. Whether you liked this twist or not, one thing is for sure—S Line did not shy away from taking risks. So let's see what Episodes 5 and 6 showed us—which scared, shocked, and also made us think.
Release Info & Context
Episodes 5 and 6 of S Line Kdrama—which also mark the grand finale of the series—were released together on July 25, 2025, at around 11:00 a.m. KST. Both episodes dropped on the South Korean streaming platform Wavve, where the entire series has been exclusively available.
S Line was made as a short thriller series with only six episodes. This was its biggest plus point—even with fewer episodes, it kept the suspense and thrill intact.
The story and direction are by Ahn Joo-young, who presented it in a slightly different and bold way. The most interesting thing is that this drama is actually based on a popular webtoon called Cocomabi. That webtoon also had desire, secrets, and a little supernatural touch, which was also seen very well in the series.
With its stylish cinematography, dark social commentary, and just the right amount of unsettling tension, S Line quickly became one of the most talked-about thrillers of the season—especially as it headed into its final two episodes.
Episode 5: Turning the Lens
In episode 5, the story takes a darker and more personal turn. Detective Han Ji-wook (played by Lee Soo-hyuk) finally puts on the S-line glasses—and what he sees changes everything.
The real shock comes when Ji-wook notices a red line connecting his own niece to his father. It’s a horrifying discovery that shakes him to the core. Suddenly, this isn’t just about work—it's about his own family, and the betrayal hits him hard. What he once believed about the people closest to him starts to crumble. Overall, S Line glasses tried so hard to destroy him.
But, he's assigned to a troubling case involving a teenage girl, and while she denies being assaulted, the glasses reveal four red lines hovering above her head. It’s an unsettling sight. Ji-wook is forced to trust what the glasses are showing, even though there’s no physical evidence to back it up.
For the first time, he has to question whether supernatural truth might be more reliable than legal proof. But in the end, through the S Line glasses, he discovered the truth: the four red lines were linked to her because four boys had secretly slept with her—without her knowledge..
Here's Shin Hyun-heup finding her first love (first red S Line). Finally, we were happy for her, but it seems like people around her or people she loved end up dying; she is cursed to be alone and able to see the Red S Line. The boy she has S Line with him ends up dying in front of her, it's really heart-wrenching, and she's again being alone.
Episode 6: When everything changed
The last episode has a shocking revelation that leaves everyone stunned. It is now clear that Lee Gyu-jin (Lee Da-hee) is the mysterious teacher who has been spreading the S-line glasses all this time. She was quietly playing with people's desires without anyone knowing. The biggest shock comes when it is revealed that she does not have any S-line.
That is, she is not only superior to everyone from the outside, but also from the inside. Hyun Heup is already getting some mysterious birthday massage, that inviting her to the world of Lee Gyu Jin. When Hyun-heup and Han Ji-wook arrived there, they got stuck in the school building.
The most dangerous scene takes place on the school rooftop. There, Ji-wook is caught between a difficult decision—should he save his father or Seon-a? And Gyu-jin turns the whole environment into a scary game. People standing around her are influenced by her words and her strange power. The red lines that are glowing above her head scare them even more.
There is an emotional twist when Hyun-heup's mother dies, and at that moment, Hyun-heup's blood triggers a major incident. She stabs Gyu-jin herself, but it's too late. Now the red S-lines burst into the sky, visible to the whole world. What was hidden until now is now out in the open.
At the end of the episode, everything becomes quiet for a while. Seon-a survives, but she no longer has an S-line, as if she has completely changed. The world is also now facing a new reality—everyone can clearly see the connections of others.
Hyun-heup is left alone. She goes to a grave, to remember her first love... but then she hears Gyu-jin's voice—echoing in the air. It seems that the story is not over yet; some mysteries are still left.
The last episode ends with many questions and leaves a deep turmoil in the heart.
Acting and Storytelling
"The most unique thing about this drama was its concept—it’s not like other dramas. It really grabs your attention. The red glowing lines showing people’s past relationships were mind-blowing. The idea was fresh and thought-provoking, especially with Hyun-heup being able to see the lines and Ji-wook using them like a spy.”
Lee Soo-hyuk, Arin, and Lee Da-hee—all three of them were brilliant. They portrayed the confusion, fear, and mystery in their characters well. Even though the tone of the story was a bit mixed at times, the acting held the story together.
Critic Reviews
While some praised the surreal finale and the daring narrative leap, others felt the tone shifted too abruptly into fantasy, undermining earlier suspense-driven strands. The abrupt cult-meets-apocalypse twist split audiences.
My Opinion
Episodes 5 and 6 of S Line had a strong and slightly surreal climax that took the drama from a mystery to a dark fantasy. The story idea and the visuals were really unique and offbeat. But yes, the tone sometimes went up and down a lot, which confused some viewers—some loved the creative approach, while others felt it missed a lot.
The season ends with a somewhat open-ended conclusion that suggests a Season 2 might be forthcoming, but there has been no official announcement yet.
Overall, S Line was a different endeavor—it’s up to you whether you liked its quirkiness or found it incomplete. Make sure to comment below your opinion on this drama. For more related Korean Drama Updates, visit us.
