It’s finally happening—in just one day, Wall to Wall (84제곱미터) is dropping on Netflix, and I’m already bracing myself for the tension, paranoia, and floor-shaking suspense. If you love thrillers that hit a little too close to home (literally), this one’s about to climb its way into your head and stay there.
From director Kim Tae-joon, the mind behind Unlocked, Wall to Wall turns everyday life into a slow-burning nightmare. This time, the terror takes place in an ordinary 84-square-meter apartment—the most common home size in Korea—where peace and quiet are supposed to exist... but don’t.
About the Movie
Wall to Wall (Korean title: 84제곱미터) is a suspenseful Netflix thriller written and directed by Kim Tae-joon, starring Kang Ha-neul, Yeom Hye-ran, and Seo Hyun-woo.
The film follows Woo-sung, a man whose dream apartment turns into a nightmare of debt, tension, and mysterious noises. Set in a typical Korean housing complex, this psychological drama explores paranoia and the pressures of modern urban life. It is 1 hr. 58 min. long filled with Mystery Psychological Thriller stories, Premieres July 18, only on Netflix.
The Storyline
Kang Ha-neul plays Woo-sung, a regular office worker who finally achieves the impossible: homeownership. He throws in every last savings, his mom’s garlic field, and takes out crushing loans—all to buy his dream apartment. But instead of peaceful nights, he gets haunted by untraceable noises from the floors above, stress, and... neighbors that seem to be hiding something.
When other residents accuse him of being the problem, Woo-sung takes matters into his own hands. He teams up with Jin-ho, a suspicious upstairs neighbor played by Seo Hyun-woo, to trace the source of the mysterious sound. And just when you think it’s about to be solved, the tension ratchets up.
And Yeom Hye-ran as Eun-hwa, the elegant yet unnerving resident rep who’s way too good at keeping order, and we’ve got the perfect triangle of suspicion, pressure, and fear.
What makes it stand out?
This isn’t just some ghost-in-the-ceiling horror. It’s a psychological thriller that taps into real, grounded fears—financial pressure, distrustful neighbors, the fear of losing control over your own life.
And the teaser already has us hooked. Woo-sung stares up at the ceiling. Tension builds. The walls seem to breathe. Every sound makes you jump. It’s claustrophobic, but in the best possible way.
Director Kim Tae-joon is proving he’s got a gift for turning an everyday space—a basic apartment—into existential horror traps. And with a cast this good? It’s guaranteed to give you something to think (and stress) about.
Final thoughts
Whether you're in it for the mystery, the performances, the actors, or just want to know what that noise upstairs really is, Wall to Wall promises a story full of twists and emotional punches. I am personally super excited about Kang Ha-neul's performance after Squid Game season 3.
