Lee Bo Young Shines in "Mary Kills You" Teaser
Hey K-Drama lover, if you are a fan of Lee Bo Young and Lee Min Ki, then you'll be surprised to hear that their upcoming dark comedy medical drama "Mary Kills People" dropped its first teaser a few hours ago on MBC's social media. I am very excited to see their bonding as well as their acting in this drama. It will air from 1st August ( Friday & Saturday ) and have a total of 12 episodes.
Plot
This drama revolves around a doctor ( Lee Bo Young ) helping terminally ill patients through illegal euthanasia and being chased by a detective ( Lee Min Ki ) who tracks down her such activities. The story formation is a unique mix of crime, medical ethics, and dark comedy, and I am eager to watch it as quickly as possible.
Star-Studded Cast Brings Depth to a Controversial Theme
So, Lee Bo Young will play the lead role as a doctor named Woo So Jeong, and Lee Min Ki will play the lead detective named Cho Hyeon U. Also we will see Kang Ki Young as the lead actor in this drama, with Kang Na Eon and Lee Won Jung as the supporting and guest roles.

Teaser Breakdown: A First Look into the Darkness
The teaser starts with the gripping and suspenseful music with a dark tone, which continues till the end. In the opening scene, they show some medical instruments with blood and the dark activities the lead actress is doing with these instruments. The tone of this teaser is brutal and filled with madness; also, the visuals are disturbing to watch. Then we see a rotation shot of the lead actress, which shows she might be mentally unstable, or she fears the pain and aftermath.
It shows us how she gives champagne to the terminally ill patient and makes them die peacefully. We have to see the drama first to understand why she is doing such things, which is also a crime. Maybe her past incident made her do that type of thing, or some trauma that she faced before is why she became such a person. In another shot we see her aiming a gun at someone with some fizzy vision and an underwater shot, which can be her past incident. At the end someone called her "Maria" in an ordering tone, but she replied, "This is not Maria anymore" and the teaser ends, but we can't see Lee Min Ki in this teaser at all.
That much suspense they build in this 30-second teaser. In the future, when they release the trailer, then we will get more information about this drama, or it can prove maybe my prediction is wrong. The bold theme of euthanasia and the moral conflict make it a perfect blend of crime, medical, and dark comedy. Also, the involvement of director Park Joon Woo and his high standard of filmmaking makes this k-drama more intense and watchable.
