Review

The 8-episode series is a perfect blend of mystery, fantasy, comedy, and action that is wrapped around a 90s story with a Y2K apocalypse panic atmosphere. The show stands out to the audience, as beneath its chaos and absurd moments, the drama doesn't lose its emotional momentum. It makes viewers laugh and let them be emotional.

It's a story of "flawed superheroes" who suddenly got powers but they also carry their own personal burden of struggles in their lives, like normal people just like us, but what actually makes them special is how they look out for each other even when the world feels like it's ending. It also shows survival and trauma, the dark side of humanity, which feels unsettling yet compelling.

It's well-written storytelling by Heo Da-joong and well-done execution. The moment you think the chaos has settled, it exceeds your expectation and gets messier, more chaotic, and more absurd, but they are absolutely entertaining, and that comedic relief doesn't overtake the emotional scenes; those are heartfelt and endearing to watch.

It gives the perfect space for the story to be comedic and dark at the same time. The pacing of the story never leaves you in any dull moments or fillers, that viewers hate. The cast has done an amazing job, as expected. The chemistry between the cast is strong, especially in the group sequences. Their scenes don't feel forced; they come off as natural comedy.

Park Eun-bin is great as Eun Cha-ni and delivers her versatility well. And on the other hand, Cha Eun Woo as Lee Woo-jung surprises with the improvement in his acting. The mysterious and His subtle acting captivates screen presence. The chemistry between them and their characters' backstories carries the show arc.
