While the whole world glorifies Alpha Male Character, K-Dramas are setting us on the right path!
In recent years, there has been a serious growth of green flag characters in K-Dramas. Before, the same rude, cold-hearted CEOs with a soft heart prevailed in the K-Drama scenes. However, there has been a sudden shift, and for good.
Now, the archetype has changed, and we see male characters who are not only those with a good heart but also ensure that they give the world, especially their loved ones, all the good. They are goofy, awkward, and obviously smitten with their love interests.
These men are shamelessly head over heels for their loved ones, respect them, and always put their egos aside to accept their wishes- or in other words, absolute green flags. Whether this character is a CEO or of any other profession, they are simply losers in love, and we are here for it.
NewKdrama has selected 4 out of a long list of male characters that are complete losers in love, and we love them for it.
1. Gong Ji-hyeok from Dynamite Kiss
However, a man who never believed in love immediately falls completely for the one. After the magical dynamite kiss, he instantly knew that Go Da-rim (Ahn Eun-jin) was the only woman he would ever love. Hw truly treats him like a princess, even after discovering that she might be married with a child, he fails to be rude to her. He may tease her here and there, but nothing to hurt her.
Despite being the one in pain for her, he still looked after her and cared for her with all his heart. Gong Ji-hyeok is a loser in love that we all wish to have.

2. Ryu Sun-jae from Lovely Runner
In the series, his character Ryu Si-O also fell for the female lead and was loved by the fans. However, in Lovely Runner, he took a complete turn with his role as Ryu Sun-jae. A soft-hearted character who always loved one girl-for whom he could even readily give up his life.
Sun-jae might be the number one athlete or even number one idol- but no one can beat him in the number one loser in love. He always prioritized Lim Sol (Kim Hye-yoon), respected her decisions, and even readily put down his ego (and shame sometimes) for her.
Literally, what more can you ask from a man?
3. Lee Jun-Oh from Extraordinary Attorney Woo
Yet, the way he treated Woo Young-woo surely took away our hearts. He would listen to her talk about the whales for hours, even when it could become tiresome at times; he would bear all of that just because of how happy Young-woo would be. He stood up for her whenever she was belittled because of her disorder. He took his time to research it so he could treat her well, like hugging her whenever she panicked, as the pressure allowed her to calm down. In the drama, he even says that he likes her so much that he feels sick- what more can justify him as the perfect loser in love?

4. Jang Shin-yu in Destined with You
As truth pans out, viewers come to know that his feelings were real all along, and the warmth of his love makes you think-perhaps we also need a lawyer in love?
The popularity of these characters shows that viewers are over-arrogant and possessive lovers who are often shown in novels and other dramas. And K-Dramas made sure to listen. These male characters are absolute perfection, but when in love, their goofiness and care make the viewers' hearts melt. These characters are surely a reminder to never settle for less.
